When it comes to visiting Jamaica’s bustling capital, we’d recommend travelling during the months of November to mid-December. Although this is not the warmest period, it is considered to be the most stable and settled one, nonetheless. The climate is cool and alluring and hence perfect for exploring galleries and museums. The National Gallery of Jamaica is open from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 4:30 pm.
Travellers will be delighted to know that the National Gallery of Jamaica has many cultural jewels to offer. Currently, there are 4 permanent galleries that one can tour and explore. They include The Historical Galleries, The Edna Manley Galleries, The Kapo Galleries and The A.D Scott Collection. Enjoy the comprehensive collection of early work. Note – the Modern Jamaican Art Galleries are closed for refurbishment. There are some excellent exhibitions to view as well. They are named as follows – ‘Selections from the National Collection: New Dialogues’, ‘Selections from the National Collection: Colin Garland’ and ‘Jamaica, Jamaica!’.
