An intercity bus is the best way to reach Bentota, by road, from Colombo or Galle. A taxi is faster, but more expensive. Buses run regularly between these cities. You can reach Bentota from Colombo in 60-90 minutes, while it takes around 60 minutes from Galle.
The Bandaranaike International Airport is the closest one to Bentota. Located just north of Colombo, it is well-connected with India and other international destinations. India to Colombo is a well-serviced route and you can get a flight from any of the big Indian cities. After landing in Colombo, you can proceed to Bentota using public means of transport or a hired taxi. You can also catch a domestic flight from Colombo which will drop you at the Bentota River Airport.
