Midsummer is a major celebration in all of the Nordic countries, marking the summer solstice which is the longest day of the year. In Sweden, it is celebrated the night before and parties continue well into the next day. It is celebrated with bonfires and lots of food and singing as everyone makes merry with family and friends.
