Shanghai Geography / Climate 

Shanghai is a prosperous port city that is situated near the Yangtze River Delta. The city has flanked by Tianma Mountain, Fenghuang Mountain, Hengshan Mountain and Xiaokunshan Mountain in the south-west districts. The three islands - Dajinshan Island, Xiaojinshan Island and Fushan Island also belong to Shanghai. Huangpu River, the main tributary of the Yangtze River is an integral part of the city’s transport.

Shanghai tourism flourishes in summer, which starts in June and lasts till September. It is hot and humid with heavy rains. Spring (March – May) is as cool as autumn (October – November) and the mercury hovers around 16 °C. The weather is perfect for sightseeing. December to February experiences cold weather, where the temperature reduces to a single digit.
