Places to Visit in Krabi

Krabi is glorious and beautiful and the lovely things you’ve heard about this tropical paradise are all true. Every year, multitudes of tourists make their way here, all in the hope of having the best vacation ever. But it can also get confusing. After all, there are more than 150 islands around the Krabi coastline! There are so many places to see and so much to do! Every area of Krabi province has its own specialties whether it’s for sightseeing, shopping or food. A list of Krabi tourist places will definitely help you tick off at least a few things from your bucket list.

If you love snorkelling, scuba diving, fishing, swimming or even just sunbathing, Koh Hong is one of the best places to go in Krabi. Enjoy all the beauty of natural limestone formations towering over crystal green waters and soft sands, without the crowds of Koh Samui or Koh Phi Phi. Overnight stays are not allowed but a visit to Koh Hong is often included as part of tours organised by groups. Relax, unwind and soak up the beauty of one of Krabi’s best beaches.

One of the places to visit in Krabi has to be the Klong Thom Hot Springs. They are considered therapeutic because of the minerals that enrich the water, while the hot springs themselves are at a temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius. What makes the experience all the more amazing is that it feels like being in an all-natural hot tub, carved out of natural stone. The mineral salts are supposed to help ailments like rheumatism and sciatica which makes it very popular. The natural rainforest environment just adds to the allure of the Hot Springs.

Wat Tham Sua or Tiger Cave Temple is just 5 km from Krabi town centre. As it’s one of Thailand’s amazing natural wonders, it’s certainly one of the top Krabi tourist places. What’s interesting about this temple is the limestone caves as well as footprint of the Buddha. It’s worth the visit if you climb up the 1237 steps to reach the main tiger cave. The views from the top are simply stupendous. If you do venture all the way up, then you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Andaman sea as well as the lush green rainforests. Sunrise and sunset at this spot can be spectacular. However, do bear in mind that this is a temple, so wear appropriate clothing and nothing disrespectful like shorts or beachwear because you feel it’s hot and humid. Although this is one of the most interesting places to visit in Krabi, it would be a good idea to carry a bottle of water with you and snacks as well as the climb can be rather strenuous.

Krabi is not just all beaches and sand and nature. There’s a vibrant nightlife here as well and although things might not get as frenetic as it would in Phuket or Pattaya, things can get quite interesting here too. One of the places to visit in Krabi if you’re in the mood for something different would be Boogie Bar in Ao Nang Walking Street. With a live band and a quaint décor, this is the place to be if you want to enjoy some good music along with drinks. Boogie Bar however does not serve food.
