One of the most beautiful places to visit in Jodhpur, Umaid Bhavan Palace is a commanding sandstone 20th century palace, situated on Chittar Hill, the highest point in the city. There aren’t many bette examples of blended architecture, with Indian and European influences both visible in its pillars, domes and archways. Today, one half of the palace still serves as a royal residence, while the other is a heritage hotel. Aside from marvelling at the architecture, the in-house museum is where you must go. From vintage cars to gifts from Queen Victoria, there’s all kinds of fascinating objects on display.
