The Birla Mandir looks out over Bhopal and provides some beautiful views of the city. It is dedicated to Goddes Lakshmi and her consort Vishnu, who is also known as Narayan. The temple is also known as Lakshmi Narayan temple. It is spread over 7.5 acres. There are lawns, gardens and fountains in the temple compound. It attracts hordes of people, devoted worshippers especially during festivals such as Diwali and Janmashtami. The temple is famous for various reasons and one of them is that it was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi.
