Every month, there are Belarus festivals celebrated with a great deal of enthusiasm and interest. January begins with a big New Year’s Eve Ball in the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus. There’s a delicious sense of nostalgia here, as elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen walk inside the theatre enjoying the live music and delightful dances such as the waltz and cotillon. Held every July in Vitebsk, this festival is a celebration of Slavic music and draws participants from neighbouring countries such as Russia, Ukraine and Poland.
Celebrated in August, this festival brings together the music, dance and cuisine of different countries and participants from these countries come here to showcase their culture.
This open-air event reveres fire which is one of the main symbols of the celebration from ancient times. The program has fire performances along with traditional rituals, shops selling handicrafts and local food.
For those who can’t get enough of medieval culture, this festival will be rather exciting. There are simulated mass battles, archery and you can even see real knights.
