Things to do in South Africa

Explore the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens: Starting your South Africa tour with the visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is a great choice. This place is unique in its own way and therefore this should be high on your list of places to visit when you are in South Africa. This garden spans around 52,800 square kilometres and can provide you with a scenery that you have never seen before. You will come across more than 22,000 species of plants here.

Be at the Cape of Good Hope: It feels very special when you reach the southern tip of the African continent. The Cape of Good Hope is the south-western point of the African continent and is one of the best places to visit in South Africa. If you enjoy bird watching, you will love to be here as you can spot more than 250 different bird species here. You can opt for the bus tour that will take you around, but if you are more of an adventurer you can take the hiking or cycling trail which would be more rewarding.

Robben Island: Robben Island is a great point of interest if you are a history buff. Used as a prison earlier, now this island is a UNESCO World Heritage site. This site is the place where many people including Nelson Mandela spent many years in incarceration. However, make sure that you book the ferry in advance and be there on time because there are limited hours for the ferries departing the Nelson Mandela Gateway. If you are more interested in South Africa’s era of segregation and oppression you can also visit the Apartheid Museum just off the M1 freeway.

Enjoy the Sea Point Promenade: If you are heading for South Africa holidays with your loved ones you will need some time where you can have quality time. Visiting the Sea Point Promenade allows you to have that quality time where you can take a walk by the sea side and experience the best time in life.  This paved and grassy promenade offers the best experience you can get while you are walking with your partner or with your family. You can also enjoy the playground here with your kids and explore the public art gallery. The coast is rocky and not ideal for swimming, but you can enjoy the sunset and make the best of your holidays.
