One of the most remarkable places to visit in Ujjain is the Kalidasa Academy. It is spread over 3,374 hectares and is a cultural institution which was set up in 1977 by the Madhya Pradesh Government. People come here to learn Sanskrit or to translate the ancient Sanskrit scripts and gain a better understanding of Kalidasa’s poems. The academy also sees several interesting festivals and events celebrated here such as the Kalidasa Festival and the Nandi Festival to name a few.
