It is well-connected to all the major cities around the world and you can easily get a flight from India. Though you can get a direct flight to Salzburg from any of the major Indian cities, there are no non-stop flights. You’ll have at least one stopover in between. Once you land at the Salzburg airport, you can take bus numbers 2, 10 and 180 to reach the city centre. Taxis take lesser time but are more expensive. Alternatively, you could hire a car from the airport if you plan to drive yourself around Salzburg. There is no direct train connectivity to the airport.
Salzburg is connected to rest of Austria by the A1 and A10 autobahns. The roads are well-maintained, and the drive is scenic. However, once you reach Salzburg, we recommend you park your car and use the excellent public transport system to get around.
Vienna and Munich are the closest train stations to Salzburg. You can make your way into Salzburg Main Station which enjoys international as well as domestic connections.
