  • For phase I and II, the gondola is open for everyone except children younger than 3 years old.

  • Going beyond the first phase is not recommended for people with heart disease or breathing problems. 


About the Gulmarg Gondola 

Gulmarg is one of the most beautiful hill stations in Jammu and Kashmir. During the winter season, it becomes a ski hub. This is possible because of the Gulmarg gondola, the second highest cable car network in the world. You can travel an aerial distance of 5 kms within half an hour via the gondola. The entire route is divided into three phases and it is not necessary to travel to the top. You can stop at the first phase if you want or go to the top, taking all the 3 gondola rides and climbing for half an hour. The views from all the phases are beautiful - you can see the Nanda Devi peak and even the LOC.

  • Children under 11 years of age are not allowed in the cable car. Children above 12 years are treated as adults.

How to get to the Gulmarg gondola 

It is very easy to reach the Gulmarg gondola. From the Gulmarg road, one can either walk for 20 minutes or hire a pony that will drop you right in front of the cable station. As the roads are crowded with pedestrians, people prefer to walk instead of riding a pony.
