This unique garden has an interesting story behind its creation. The Rock Garden is essentially an open-air exhibition hall that exhibits various sculptures made from urban and industrial waste. It was single-handedly designed and created by Nek Chand, a government employee, who developed it in his spare time. It is a massive 40-acre garden that houses more than 5,000 statues made out of scrap.
From terracotta pots to broken bangles and toilet pots, the materials used in the creation of the sculptures are truly varied. You can explore the sculptures on interlinked causeways. The Rock Garden is located in sector 1, near the Sukhna Lake, and is one of the must-visit places in Chandigarh.
