Weather Conditions in Bangalore
The Garden City of India has changed remarkably in recent times. Bengaluru has seen an explosion in population and oftentimes the city infrastructure struggles to keep up with the influx. Most people find that this is one of the cities you can travel to any time of the year. They firmly believe that there is no best time to visit Bengaluru. However, it’s still good to know what to expect so you can pack accordingly. Bengaluru has three distinct seasons – summer, winter and monsoon. Here’s what to expect in each season.
Bengaluru summers from March to May are quite mild although the city is known for the occasional heat wave. Temperatures hover between 20 to 38 °C and if you are in the city during one of the hot times, then do remember to keep yourself hydrated. Bangalore summers can be relentless. Also, make sure you wear light and cool cottons that will help ward off the heat.
Winters are from November to February and are often considered to be the best time to visit Bengaluru. The temperatures can drop down to a very comfortably cool 12 °C and the weather tends to stay quite pleasant. It’s no wonder then that people love to visit Bengaluru during the winters. However, this means that the city is more crowded at this time. Carry a light sweater as it can get quite chilly during the evenings.
The monsoon months in Bengaluru are from June to September and rainfall often begins at the end of May. The good thing is that the rainfall cools down the city’s temperature tremendously, making it fresh but heavy downpours can sometimes create problems. Do remember to carry your umbrella and wear sturdy boots.
