Do you like silvery beaches where the turquoise water teases the sand? Or do you prefer ginger brown dunes kissed by the sun? If you are having a tough time making a choice, then you must visit Dammam because it presents to you the goodness of both the desert and the sea.

Dammam is usually considered a business hub because the Arabian Gulf’s largest sea port is in this city. The Dammam Sea Port is not only the largest but also one of the busiest sea ports in the Arabian Peninsula. You can quite imagine how the Dammam Sea Port, located in the Silk Road, turns the city into a place of extreme commercial as well as cultural importance.

Today, Dammam is slowly transforming into a hotspot for explorers as well. The sheer variety of activities in the city makes it a favourite among travellers. Whether it is taking a cruise along the Dammam Sea, or spending days island-hopping, you can do it all when on a trip to Dammam. Not just that, you can also enjoy the deserts of Dammam for a complete Saudi holiday.

In today’s post, we will be sharing the most exciting things to do in Dammam. Brace yourself, this ride is going to blow your mind and steal your heart at the same time!

From the Desert to the Sea: Things to do in Dammam

To get the best of what the Dammam Sea and the deserts of Dammam have to offer, here are some of the most enthralling things to do when in the city:

1. Go on a solitary walk along the Corniche

There are very few things more romantic than taking a stroll along a beautiful promenade. Dammam’s waterfront offers some spectacular views to its explorers. Watching the Dammam Sea and the gulf from here as the sun sets into or rises from it, is a view that will stay with you for a lifetime and more.

What makes the promenade so magnificent is all the thought that has been put into its decoration. From statuaries by local sculptors to greens on both sides trimmed to look their best, a solitary walk along this path fills you with that necessary silence where slowly joy seeps in and makes a home for itself.

2. An adrenaline rush in the deserts of Dammam

The best thing about Dammam is that neither the sea nor the desert is ever too far away. During your holiday to Dammam, do bash some dunes, or go on a quaint camel ride. For those who like henna art, we would also recommend that you let the artisans in the deserts of Dammam try out a special design on your hands.

Any desert safari must end with a delicious meal. Surrounded by auburn dunes, indulge in a barbeque and take several photographs while you do that.

If the thought of leaving the desert too soon disappoints you, then why not spend the night there? We are serious! Bedouin desert camping must be tried to truly appreciate the sands of Dammam like a traditional nomad. Imagine lying down in the quiet heart of the desert with a million stars twinkling at you! Ah, we are sure you would not want to miss that experience for anything in the world!

3. Try some delectable delights

For a global experience in Saudi, you should visit the Eastern Province. This region is home to several expatriates. Dammam being the capital of the Eastern Province serves as the hallmark of modern living in Saudi. Before we let you go and start browsing through our tour packages to Saudi, let us quickly take you through the Covid-19 travel guidelines to keep in mind when visiting the country.

When travelling to Saudi, no matter which city you land in, you will need a negative PCR test result. You won’t be allowed to set foot in the country without this in place. Please make sure that you take the test not more than 72 hours before arriving in Saudi.

All travellers must also show proof of vaccination (vaccine certificates for COVID 19) with one of the approved vaccines recognized in Saudi. Travellers are also encouraged to check the current entry requirements with their chosen airline.

The next document that you will need is of course the visa. We are not sure whether you are aware of this, but Saudi, like many countries around the world, has suspended visa-on-arrival facility currently.

Apart from the negative PCR test result, it is highly recommended that you get yourself and your companions, if any, a Covid-19 insurance. This insurance will cover the quarantine costs in case you test positive during your holiday. It is always a good idea to be prepared for the worst, especially when on foreign shores.

Once you reach Saudi, do download their Tawakkalna app and get yourself registered for all the latest travel and health regulations in the country.

We hope you have a splendid holiday in Dammam.
