Istanbul Tourism

Where the mysticism of the East meets the modernity of the West; where countless cultures have collided throughout the course of time and where Europe and Asia become one — Istanbul. Experience a destination unlike any other, on a magical Istanbul tour planned by SOTC with our Istanbul tour packages or Turkey tour packages.

Istanbul Geography

Split by the Bosphorus Strait, Istanbul is a geographically unique city with one half in Europe and the other in Asia. It’s got the Marmara Sea and Black Sea on either side, and a landscape of mostly rolling hills. While the Golden Horn, an inlet of the Bosphorus, is the natural harbour that was the actual point of origination of the city.

Istanbul Climate

Istanbul tourism in spring or autumn offers ideal Mediterranean climes and the advantage of low visitor traffic at most sights, museums even cafés. Summers get extremely hot and crowded and winters are cold, rainy and snowy. If you’re planning winter tour, do carry ample warm clothes and an umbrella too.

Istanbul Culture

Istanbul tourism is most revered for its vibrant blend of cultures. The Romans, Greeks and Ottomans all took their turns to rule the city, taking it from Byzantine to Constantinople to the present-day name of Istanbul. The erstwhile last stop on the legendary Silk Route is today one of the foremost holiday destinations in the world – for its mosques and museums, palaces and markets, art and culinary heritage.

Partners, families and even solo travellers can’t resist the charm of Istanbul tourism. An Istanbul tour with SOTC could be a packed two-day schedule or a weeklong sojourn. It can be all-inclusive or with only a few elements pre-arranged, based on your needs.
