How to Reach Mysore

The royal and historic city of Mysore (or Mysuru) in south-western Karnataka is accessible from almost all the major cities. While planning your Mysore tour package, you need to figure out the best way to reach Mysore. You can plan a drive from Bangalore, which can be exciting. Otherwise, there are various other options to reach Mysore. You can fly down to the new Bangalore International Airport and reach Mysore by road, which is about 170 kms away.

Another option is to take a bus from Kempegowda Bus station near the Bangalore City Railway station. There are several options of private transport buses as well, but even government run buses are equally good for the journey. Tickets are easily available, as the frequency is good enough.

You can also consider taking the train route, as Mysore railway station is well-connected by rail and is about 2kms from the city. There are multiple options of express trains running between Bangalore and Mysore - Tippu Express, Chamundi Express, Kaveri Express and Mysore Express.
