How to Reach Andaman

  • By Air - The best way to travel to Andaman Island is by air. There are multiple flights are available from the major cities of India (Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi etc.) to Port Blair, the capital of Andaman Islands. 

    By Sea - If you are planning a long holiday, one option you can explore is travelling by sea. There are ships and cruises that depart from Chennai, Kolkata and Vizag. It would take you about 60 hours to get from port to port.

  • By Rail - You can also take a train to any one of the closest metro and then choose to fly to Port Blair. However, the time taken will be considerably longer.

To travel within the islands, local modes of transport such as private minivans and jeeps are available. Ferries and boats also come in handy when travelling to various points of interest at other islands.
