This jail was built by the British to torture Indian freedom fighters, the most famous among them being Veer Savarkar. The cellular jails are a pilgrimage for Indians and history buffs. The history and story of the cellular jails are told via light and sound show.<\/p>

After the cellular jail, visit Asia\u2019s oldest running saw mill\u2014the Chatham Saw Mill. It was built by the British in 1836. This saw mill is connected to the island through a bridge, which happens to be the second largest wharf in the Andamans.<\/p>

Understand the marine life around the Andaman and Nicobar Islands with a visit to the Naval Marine Museum. This museum is run by the Indian Navy and it provides the historical and geographical information about the islands.
