India is known to have legends attached to every festival and pilgrimage, and so does Amarnath Yatra.<\/p><p>Let\u2019s find out the legends that give us an insight of Amarnath Yatra:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>According to Legends, it is believed that Lord Shiva told Goddess Parvati the secret of Shri Amarnathji\u2019s cave creation. A pair of pigeons eavesdropped on their conversation. They learned about the secret and became immortal. These pigeons later made this cave their home. A lot of pilgrims on Amarnath Yatra have witnessed these pigeon pair during the trek before the Ice-Lingam \u2013 the Symbol of Shiva.<\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There is another legend that tells the story of a Muslims shepherd named Buta Malik. A saint once gave him a sack of coal. When he reached home, he discovered the sack had gold instead. Overjoyed, Buta Malik rushed to meet the saint to thank him but discovered a cave on the same spot he met the saint. This has since then become the place of pilgrimage.<\/li><\/ul><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Another legend tells the story of Kashap Reshi who drained the Kashmir Valley of water. The lingam and the cave were discovered by Brejish Reshi.
