Switzerland Tours – Go Tobogganing in Valais

A toboggan is a long and narrow sled that is curved towards the ends. It usually also has handrails on the sides. This sled is used for coasting over snow. Tobogganing is one of the most fun things to do in Europe.

While snow can be found in many places in Europe, tobogganing in Valais, Switzerland, is very popular. Given below are some routes for Toboggan run that you may experience on your Europe trip.

  1. Lauchernalp to Wiler

Do you want to experience adrenaline-filled tobogganing in the Lötschental? This 7-km long route starts at Lauchernalp (1968m) and ends at Wiler. However, you need to be extremely careful because skiing is also very popular on this route. You may also hike to Fafleralp or Weissenried and then get on this route. If you are browsing for Switzerland tour packages, make sure that this activity is a part of your itinerary.

  1. Savoleyres Gondola to La Tzoumaz

This route is western Switzerland’s longest toboggan run. It is almost 10-km long! Your run will start from the summit station of Savoleyres, (2,354m) and after 10km of snow and an exhilarating drop of 848m, you will reach the La Tzoumaz. There are many Switzerland tours but make sure you opt for one wherein you and your family can experience this wonderful activity.

  1. Visperterminen

This toboggan run is situated at the Giw ski lift (2000m), which is located above Visperterminen. After 7km of toboggan fun where you will sled downhill, you will find yourself back at the resort that is situated at 1450m. What’s more? During the peak season, every Friday evening, you may also enjoy a fondue party with “Fritags-Fondü.”

  1. Gornergrat

It is the highest downhill toboggan run in all of Switzerland and a major attraction of Europe tourism. The 1.6-km ride from Rotenboden to Riffelberg lasts anywhere between five and ten minutes. Whether you are a kid or older, this will be a fun ride for you. You may hire the best toboggans from Rotenboden Station.

  1. Fiescheralp to Lax

Go for a long toboggan run on a traditional Valais Ghosky sleigh for 13km. The sleigh will move as you move your body. You may reach Fiescheralp at 2222m via a cable car. You will also run through a forest while riding here. Once at Lax, take a bus back to Fiesch and enjoy the enchanting views.

While there are many stunning places to visit in Europe, Switzerland should be at the top of your list, and you should not miss these exciting tobogganing rides.
